I Was Wondering Why They Say The Golden Doesnt Get Good Depth, With My Experiences This Detector Sings On Silver And Brass Have Found Many Nice Coins And Buttons In Highly Minerilized Soils.

i sure like mine
it loves gold rings

I have read many posts(I was considering purchasing one) on the Golden. The most predominant statement is that it's "deeper than you think" Even though Tesoros are fast responding detectors, they get even more depth by a slower sweep speed(as per Monte, and my own experiences). I'm sure others who own one will voice the same. I'm trying to refrain from my own thoughts because I said on one post that it would be better to get another brand detector over a Compadre. I now have one and wish I had never made that statement.

The Golden will find targets in the 6-7" range ok ..... it's no Relic machine with an adjustable ground balance but it wasn't designed for that purpose. it will hit on big Iron targets with a substantial rust halo around it like all detectors will. It can bring out some old relics if you happen to swing the coil over them. The Golden was built with the tone and notch as the highlight adjustments on this particular unit. It was basically meant to be used in parks where the tones and notch would allow the user to notch out/in any unwanted/desirable targets.... That being said, I think the golden has it's place among the rest of tesoro's detector line up with it's own special characteristics that make it it's own special hunter for the purposes it was designed for..... I like the 8x9 & 5.75 concentric coils on the Golden here In East Texas where I live..... it's a very good detector for the parks and sports fields here.......

Deepest silver coin was quarter about 7-8 inches.

It would be real nice if Tesoro put the features of the Golden on one of their higher end machines such as the Cibola, Vaquereo or Tejon . As it stands the Golden will only pick up modern drops in my area . The older , more valuable coins have sunk beyond detection .

I will say one thing about the golden it's the truest tone machine i've owned, if it only had the depth of a vaq or tejon then that would be killer!
