hello there tesoro users any insight or secrets about these machines would be great why i bought this one got a hell of a deal on this $350.00 brand new and also got the 12 x 10 spoke coil, any feed back would be great and remember the name means treasure!

The Golden is a very popular unit.My buddy Dan has one,and in the few minutes he was sputtering around with it, the machine did well. This is with two newbies trying to screw it up you realize..I don't know what coils come with the machine.Did you get two? I am going to have to start flipping pages and see what has been said about the 12 by 10 coil in the past..Actually, we need Monte to catalog everything on Tesoro and bring out "Monte's Tesoro Compendium"..Have fun with the new toy and I hope your ground is soft, the temperatures comfortable, and rain a week or so away. well thanks nad on that, yah this machine comes with 9 x 8 coil and i just bought the 12 x 10 coil originally got it for silver umax and then i was looking on ebay there was golden on there for $365.00 shipped and made him an offer of $350.00 shipped and after the auction got a hold of me asked how do i want to this? i've been debating over this machine and the vaquero just because of the depth i read about, ok hope you can hunt where your located and if you can happy hunting

I am very interested in how the larger coil works..Would you please drop posts from time to time..One game plan we are thinking about is using the ground sweeper coil on the "V" ,planting flags and second man digs..This would be in one acre chunks..Breaking up the team, the large coil ,you have, might be excellent on soccer fields...Digging here in Ohio?? The cop came by and said "Nad, you return the back hoe, we'll forget it" Cordially NAD

Hay AMC,

I don't know anything about tha Golden, but it has 10kHz
circutry. I ahce two 10kHz Tesoro'es that use tha same
coils as tha Golden. I don't know how different tha Euro
Sabre and Eldorado are fron tha Golden but I have used
tha 12X10 concentric on them. Mostly tha Euro, but they
are very simular.

I hear that they don't go all that deep on coin shootin. I
have used it for relic/artifact huntin. It can be very deep.
It is very sensative. It pin points real well. It can go deep.

This may sound like a bull story, but I widened tha hole
out at 12" to make sure tha target wasn't in tha side of
tha hole. Tha sides of tha hole were slick as you can see.
Nothin was fallin in tha hole. I used an elelcronic pin pointer
every time I dug some dirt. I know I pulled the pull tab on
top of tha shovel handle from tha bottom of that hole.

I would be interested on how a bigger coil does on the Golden. I have a older moden Golden on its way to me (Golden Sabre II) it has the brown 8" round coil like comes on the Silver uMax. Too cold & snowy here in upstate N.Y. to detect but you can bet that I will be out bench testing it. After looking at the pictures you posted Tabdog, I have to ask you - why do you have your coil mounted backwards. Thanks! Steve.

It sitck way out in front if it is front wards.

Besides, I'm tha Tabdog,

I like ta do things backwards

ok how much does the 7-x2 run for money? tell me what do you think a wide scan would do for it? and have ever tried the 10.5 concentric coil for one of these? just currious about these machines.

got my brand new golden today and love those tones now this is language i can understand, depth is a little shallower than i like but thats just air testing we'll have to waite and see until spring, can't waitttttttttttt!

hey just noticed i got the older version of the golden because this got round speaker holes and not the slits can anybody tell me if this has less or more than the current model out? or they the exactly the same internally? any info would be great.

does anybody know how to set the notch to keep out aluminum pull tabs and keep nickels, i've figured out on the iron range to discriminate well but this one item i can't seem to get this one, suggestions?

You can simply go to wide notch and turn the notch control all the way to the left, or very near. Test it on a nickel as you turn the control. This should get zincers, screwcaps, and most pulltabs.
You wont block ALL pulltabs, though, because many mimic nickels.

Looked at the TabDog's tab hole pictures, and the light came on..Tab Dog works for the Arkansas Light and Power Company..any place they want to place a pole, they drop a tab..He does the rest..It is cold here, colder up in North Dakota country. Word from the ground hog on Spring........Spring will come about September...Is it camping weather in North Georgia yet? Cordially Nad
