Golden Umax VS. Vaquero

IMHO the discrimination should be pretty much equal. The Vaquero would get the depth edge, on average, due to the HOT technology and the manual ground balance. On the other hand, for coin hunting in typical parks, fair grounds etc. the Golden is more than adequate and the tone ID is definitely a plus. Both are good machines and each has its following.

I had a Vaquero, liked it but sold it and don't miss it. Now have a Golden uMax, prefer it over the Vaq. because of the 4 tones. Vaq is deeper but the Golden will get a dime in mild soil at 6" for sure. For me, tones add to the pleasure.
