Golden Umax under rated?

I will admit that I haven't owned a non metered machine for about two years. But as a coin shooter it would seem that in most ground conditions the Golden Umax would be a killer non TID machine. It seems that the Golden posts are few and from the outside it would seem that the Golden isn't as popular as the other Tesoro machines. I would think that it would be one of the top Tesoro coin shooters since it has a 4 tone target ID. Can some Golden Umax people tell me about the performance of this machine and how the variable notch works for them in coin hunting? Thanks.

Well Ive picked up a golden this year. Its a good coin shooting detector but lacks depth. The tone ID isn't on par like the sov. Also the tone at times sounds weak but as you kick away about 2 or 3 inch's of dirt then you are able top hear a nice loud tone which you are able to use as ID ,but otherwise if coins are at any depth it seems the tones are weakened and doesn't really help you to ID the targets by using the 4 tones. But what I really like about this detector is tone ID in all metal! Its a great idea and works really good.AS far as variable notch ,Iam not a big fan of this at all.I believe they shouldn't even be on any detector.Use your ears and get to know your machine that is the golden rule.Hopes this help you.HH

if you mean a depth of 5 inch's,the tone is weak but still repeatable but,if your swinging to fast it may not even sound off your detector. This leads me to believe that the deeper the coin the tone isn't as crisp as it should be.Tone # 3 and #4 is very close in sound. In all its a light weigh detector and nicely constructed. Its an excellent dig all target detector for coin and jewellery hunting.

Hi Kenny, if you don't own a Golden uMax your missing out. Great machine!!!
