Golden uMax tones

While doing some reading a while back, I came across something that stated the Golden uMax came in two different versions. A high tone and low tone... was this a change at the factory that affected the entire run from that point forward, or was it an option( could you choose) or was this a 1 off modification that you could pay to have done by the tesoro techs? If it was a production run change, is there Any way of knowing which is which? I Can't find where I read that.

Both produce 4 tones. New tone version allows nickels to sound off with a high tone.

Is there any visual way of discerning which is which?

The serial numbers were 190000ish when they changed to the newer tone version.
Its in a thread on here somewhere, just have to do some reading to find it.
There are also some of the older ones that were converted at the factory
