Golden uMax Question

As some of you know I have a new (to me) Golden uMax comming. Sorry for asking so many questions and this should be my final questions on the Golden.
By looking around on the web I see that some Golden's have a faceplate that has small round holes, and other Golden's have a faceplate with louvers. Is this anything to do with the age of the Golden & if so which is newer.
I also noticed that by searching on the web that some of the 5.75" uMax coils has the cable comming off the left side of the mounting bracket and some of them have the coil with the cable comming off the right side of the mounting bracket. I want to order a 5.75" for my Golden and want the right one. The Golden I am getting has the faceplate with louvers. Thanks everyone! Steve.

The face plates with the holes at the speaker are the older versions and the ones with the louvers are the newer versions.
All of the coils for the Umax detectors like yours should work on your detector.
The new H.O.T. coils which are designed for the Cibola, Vaquero, and Tejon will not work on you detector.
Just make sure that you get the standard Umax coils.
Check the Tesoro link below to read and select the coil which is made for your detector.

Thanks fwcrawford, is there any difference between the 5.75" umax coils - one has the cable on the left side of the mounting ears of the coil and one has the cable on the right side of the mounting ears. Thanks! Steve.

From what I see on the Tesoro website, the 5.75" standard coil for the Umax detectors has the connector mounted on the left side of the coil.
The 5.75" coil for the Vaquero, Cibola, and Tejon has the connector on the right side of the coil. These are the coils that use the H.O.T. technology and will not work on your detector.
I only see one coil that is 5.75" for the Umax detectors like yours and it is a concentric coil.
The 5.75" coils for the the Vaquero, Cibola, and Tejon are offered in a concentric and widescan version which is why two are displayed on the Tesoro website.
If you get the 5.75" coil for the detector you have, then you just need to make sure that it is for the standard Umax detectors.
When you order your coil, just tell the dealer what detector model you have and he will know which one to send you.
