Came this afternoon. Outside playing with the settings as shown by 53 silver's videos, I can duplicate his results with small gold rings. Tomorrow I'll try it out at a local park.

Laying out a bunch of different targets (rings, coins, pry-caps, screw caps etc.) on the ground and using different notch width settings is well worth while. Try different notch width settings with the notch switch on and off. The Golden

Thanks Tabman, I did do that.

Took the Golden out for an hour or so before work this afternoon. Found 1 copper penny, 2 zincs, 2 clad quarters. I also dug every bad/chirpy signal to see what was down there. Should have saved the energy.
When the coil goes over a coin, there's no mistaking it. It's a solid hit. Tomorrow I'll probably dig all the bad signals as well, just to be sure.

Thanks for the help,
Cliff

Small rings, but not at different depths in the ground, but on the surface like in 53 Silver's videos. (thanks 53silver) Results were quite similar to his. Rings do sound like zinc pennys. I've only been out 3 times with it so far. No rings yet, but the pull tabs and foil pile is getting larger. I'm still digging every broken and choppy signal.

I did find two silver quarters on an old abandoned ski slope. A 1934 and a 1952. They were about 4'' apart.

Tabman, your posts are still getting cut off. This stinks a big one.

I was having the same problem, I was typing my post in Word to get a better spell checker and then copy and paste into my post area. For some reason it did not like apostrophes.
