golden umax finds the gold again :detecting:

hi all
went out today with my golden umax with the 11 inch concentric coil , to 1 of my supposedly worked out parks & this little jem showed up at a depth of about 5-6 inches down
1.5 dwt , 10 kt white gold small diamond
so much for the worked out thing
this makes the 34th ring this year
not all gold
Patience & a great detector & the finds are there

What exactly is the "preset" position on a golden? Why don't they just call it foil or nickel or where ever it should fall in at like the other Tesoros? Congrats on the bling though! I wonder how many tabs and screw tops you had to dig that day to get that little gem?

on my golden theres a preset mark between iron & nickle i run it there
i did dig a few pulltabs but not to many
if the site is loaded i run the notch to narrow
it would still get that ring but the large mens that fall at pulltab would be lost
i try to run lower discrimate whenever i can
but will run notch if need be

Ok, was just curious since that setting on my silver and the Cortes equates to their foil mark. I've heard lotsa good stuff about these little goldens and would buy one in a heart beat if it had a manual ground balance. As it is, I would snatch up a used one if I found a killer deal on it; just seems over priced for no ground balance. Now, if I could just add the multiple tones and adjustable notch to a vaquero, well that would sure be a purdy lil' tesoro!
