Golden umax comparisons please

Habanero

Member
I've always danced around the idea of trying out a golden before but instead I tried other brands and put the golden tryout on the back burner. I'm considering it again among a couple of other units and thought I would get some opinions. Golden users, can anyone who has used the golden umax give me their thoughts with how it stacks up with the likes of these other units please? I am talking about the at pro, the teknetics greek line such as the omega and the whites M6. Coin shooting in trashy parks is my main use of the machine and looking for quick response, good seperation and proper identification. Digging less junk is nice too! Tabman, I'm looking at you buddy; not sure if you've tried the golden umax yet but I know you have experience with some Tesoro's and these others. Thanks to all who can chime in.

Habanero, take a look at how many detectors that I have. I can't make-up my mind for nothing.

The only thing I know for sure right now is that I love my Bandido II uMax a lot.

I like the M6, but I wish it was a little lighter.

Lol, I hear ya' Tab and I'm the same way except I have to sell 'em before I can try the next one. So far though, I miss the M6 the most out of what I've had. It may come down to where I can find a deal on a used detector if I decide not to go new but I'm not in too big a hurry to move on it yet. I'm looking at the golden, or an omega/gamma right now. I'm also taking the plunge for water hunting as well so that's why I'm not in too big a hurry for the land unit but I feel "naked" without a land detector to take to the parks. Thanks Tab.

Learning a detector has a much broader meaning than most realize.
Most will buy a detector thinking 'this machine will be best, or do well at such and such a thing'.

However, as I have learned, this is only true in part.
By the time a person has spent hundereds upon thousands of hours on any single machine, they will have learned the 'personality' of it as well as certain characteristics that will apply to only that machine. With a single toned, beep and dig unit the trained user will be able to out hunt many other detectorists using other more advanced machines, because the user knows exactly what the machine is telling them.

I own the Golden Sabre II, although different than the Golden
