Golden Umax 1st Time Out

Captain Hook

New member
Well I took the Golden Umax out today for the first time. I was very impressed to say the least. The Golden weighs almost nothing. It's so easy to swing you can go forever. I was finding targets in the 6-8 inch area, unbelievable! I am still getting use to the different tones and the notch feature, but i will do better in time. Today I found 63 clad coins, a nice button, and two small junk pieces of jewelry. I was very happy with the Golden Umax. Next week I will receive my Deleon. If the Deleon works as well as the Golden, and has a visual display, it will be outstanding. The only problem is the Golden may not be used much after the Deleon comes. I am thinking about putting a 4" coil on the Golden and use it next to bleachers and in tot lots.

Oh yea I forgot to add, my wireless headphones from Radio Shack worked great on the Golden Umax. No interference or lag time.

You may want to consider the 5.75" over the 4". It's still tight with great depth.

The Radio Shack wireless headphones were $65. I had to buy the1/4 to 1/8 adapter for $6. I went ahead and got the extended warranty for $8. The part number is 33-1253.

Thanks for the tip on the Radio Shack head phones. I may have to try them.

Nice first hunt too with the Golden too.

The headphones have built in rechargeable batteries. I just checked the literature, it says the headphone playtime should be about 7 hours.
