Golden U-Max Question

I'd agree with Dert plus suggest the 7"concentric or in heavy trash the 5.75"

I've been wondering the same thing for the two Tesoros that my wife and I use for the same kind of hunting.

Thanks!

My dirt is tough. Most of the time its either the 8.5" widescan or the Cleansweep depending on the site as most of the time ground coverage is more important to me than depth. In those places where depth does matter more and the Golden can still hunt it then I find switching to the all metal mode often works better than just switching to a larger coil. Easy to work the narrow footprint of the widescans around in trash. In heavy surface trash the concentrics will overload a lot so the 7" widescan often times works better than the smaller concentrics. Nothing worse than hunting with the 4" coil held three inches above the ground to keep it from overloading.

Good luck,

Mike

What would be the best coil for the Golden U-max for coins and jewerly in parks, tot lots and freshwater beaches?
Hey for just a few bucks more than a coil you can get a Compadre with the 5 3/4 coil for places like tot lots and the like. Then you would not have to change coils back and forth. Bill in Texas :tesoro:
