does anyone have a ideal on what a used golden saber 2 is worth, say in #8 condition?,works fine, thinking about buying a new vaquero.dont really use the notch on it that much.will the g.s.2 work good with a lager coil for more depth?or should i sell on ebay, and get new vaquero?most of my hunting is at old homesteads in the tri state area of oh.wv.pa.,thanks

Hey Dog,
I'm just guessin' that it would be in the 175-225 range?!? There is some call for the older Tesoros, but they certainly dont get the depth of the newer ones. The newer ones wont have the nice tones that yours has, but like I said earlier, you probably wont get the depth of them either. Best of luck with it!

Always considered GS 11 more of a parks machine, good notch, like gold jewelry, indeed newer Tesoro's do have more depth and feel it would be a good move..
Since the Golden U-max emerged GS-11 prices have gone down.Hard to say but putting it on auction with a moderate reserve should get you the best price...

hi there r.c.,cant sell till i get enough money together for new detector, but i will post it here when i do.had it sent to tesoro on 4-6-05 for a tuneup and check over, they did a grat job.it is very stable now and much deeper.i bought it new in mid 90's and was never satisfied with proformance, false signals, lack of depth.only used it that summer maybe 80 hours that year, put it away, and just got it back out this year.call tesoro about it,j.gifford said send it in,i did, they said the balance was way out, fixed it and sent it back..i had a whites(1982)ten years older, 5000d before it,and it would just kick the(1994)new g.s.2 butt.i have the jod ticket and letter the sent me to show it has been checked over.will post when i get new detector.take care,
