Golden Ground Balance knob

Tinfoil

New member
Who out there can tell me who can put the G/B knob on the Golden and I want someone who knows what he is doing. Thanks Jerry aka Tinfoil

There was a guy in California that was doing it, and did a nice job too, but I cant remember his name. Send Mike Hillis a PM, because I think he bought one from the guy.

I can't remember his name but I think he made the killer Bee ear phones. It has been a long time since I saw him last. It was a Treasure Expo Show. Anyway Thanks, Jerry aka Tinfoil

I have a Golden with Joe's gb mod, and one with Paul's gb mod. Joe puts the pot in a box glued to the side, and Paul can put them on the faceplate, or, move the threshold pot so that its on the bottom (where the serial number is) and put the gb pot where the threshold was.

Both guys mods work well. Sometimes you'll knock the box loose but a little superglue fixes it right up. I would expect Mr Bill Crabtree would also do good work.

The gb gives you more stability. A couple more inches in depth in my ground and quieter, and it seems to me the notch width settings are more constant from site to site.

I know Tesoro wants turn on and go simplicity, but the gb mod sure seems to make a difference in my ground.

Mike

edited for spelling :)

Thanks for the infor. I was going to make a pinpointer out of my Golden but I decided to make one out of the ID Excell with the Sunray probe. I like my Golden better then the Excell so one had to get fixed. Besides the Golden would have had a 4" coil now I can use the Excell add the 1" sunray coil and I got one hell of a 1" pinpointer. Got to call Dugger and find out how much it will cost me. Thanks Bud I really appreciate it . :super: :clapping: Jerry aka Tinfoil

I've done two of them, one of them with a Micro Switch so you can choose between Manual or Preset. I found that in some areas, the preset did just fine. I also made a custom face plate without a speaker, giving me plenty of room to mount pots... :)

Steve

I fiqured when Paul posted his you would be fixed up, but I thought I'd better ask before it looked like I totally ignored you. :nono:
