Hit GGP yesterday, and it must have been "Foreign Coin Day"
I found a 1982 Canadian penny, 2006 New Zealand 50 cent piece (must be made of zinc coated iron, came in really strange, I almost skipped it). Lastly an odd find - A Silver 1976 Austrian Winter Olympics 100 Shilling. I don't believe it's been there that long, as it was only around 4" deep and cleaned up easily, but seems like an odd coin to show up
I didn't think I'd pulled out anything old or semi-old, but when I looked through my loot this morning I found that I'd dug a 1944-S Wheatie (what's the story on the big $$$ 1944 D/S wheatie???)
Here's better pics pilfered from the net of the Olympic coin:
Finding unexpected things is what keeps this hobby fun.
