goldbug pro vs Vaquero and GMT

The new goldbugpro is supposed to handle hot ground and small targets with a 5" DD coil. What if you replaced the stock concentric coil with a small coil on the Tesoro Vaquero? Or used the 5.75" DD coil on a goldmaster GMT? Would this be just as good? Or any other prospecting detector running at 14 Khz or above? Is the goldbugpro offering anything new?

Can we now ignore pulse induction by changing to small coils on our VLF's? I've heard the average gold nugget in America is only 6" deep. So unless we're in Australia, do we even need pulse induction?

I would have to disagree with that statement unless it is qualified by saying "the average found nugget is (perhaps) 6" deep". Nuggets are primarily found at either the bedrock layer, on false bedrock or mixed in ancient stream gravels. These layers can be found near the surface or tens to hunderds of feet down depending on the age and geology of the location.

VLF's will never replace Pulse Induction but can work in tandem with them to clean out a known producing area. The main advantage of Pulse detectors is their ability to use large coils in high mineral ground to achieve the depths needed to pull decent sized nuggets out of areas where the bedrock or caliche layer is beyond VLF depth.

from what i here its like 5 feet.... so if you got the money go buy a PI machaine.....If not try a VlF... Something under 900 dollers....

A survey in Arizona found that most nugget finds were between 4 and 8 inches.

Wonder if I can get a small coil for the MXT? else its the goldbugpro.

You can get alot of coils for the mxt-whites makes them and a company makes them for kellyco.
I have a 5" excelarator coil for mine and its amazing on small gold.It can hit grain size gold.

You can also get real big excelarator coils 12x15 I think if not bigger.

Im wondering if my MXT with a real big excelarator coil will go deeper than my Garrett infinium?
