Goldbug 2

New member
Just got a Goldbug 2 for some nugget hunting & meteorite searching.
Can anyone give me any tips, or pointers on setting up for the search?
How well will this detector perform?
Thanks for your input.

I am sorry to say this, but this is the wrong forum for anything other than coins and relics. You will be waiting a long time for a answer. Check this site out.

Hey don't be sorry I have asked about nugget shooting as well. I still haven't received a answer and that was about 45 days ago. :surprised: I don't have personal experience with the gold bug 2 but I heard it is a great machine. Also check this site out this guy knows his gold bugs.

Tip one. Read the manual, especially about ground balancing. This is the key to success in finding nuggets.

Tip two. Go where gold has been found, use all metal, dig every target, especially those very faint signals. The GB 2 will find small nuggets that other machines miss. It can also give you fits in highly unrealized soil which is why ground balancing is critical. I found it took me a while to find my first nugget but the second came sooner than the third and so forth. The big thing is to get out and hunt.

Tip three. Dig all targets until you master the iron discrimination, if in doubt dig.
