Found some 18 K gold today and a few euros, the water was quite calm but still cold here in Europe! It has been a long time since I posted, I left in Feb for a 3 month deployment, got back in May..... My time is up in July on my Paradise Island here in Italy. The time has come that I am being forced to retire from the Navy and move back to the states with my family :cry::cry:

I just got back from Norfolk, Virginia after spending 3 1/2 weeks looking for a place to live and a new job. I spent some time with my old friend Tony and going to VA Beach detecting a few times, but didn
 
for the 18k and above! We were on a cruise, and were told beforehand that metal detecting was not allowed ANYWHERE in Italy..
'hope to get back someday. We anchored in Cadiz and there is a big beach there.
 
Looks like you're leaving the Navy to join the VaBeach Surf Pirates!
They look like a motley crew but a good sailor could do a lot worse.:lol:
A beautiful island, it will be hard to leave. They say that no door closes without another one opening, Good Luck!
