Gold, wheaties and a foreign coin

The usual clad with a few surprises today. The gold earring is marked 14k...it was giving a broken signal at 14/6. The foreign coin read a 3/28 to 29 like a dime...your guess as good as mine...Chinese...Japanese???? Oh also a rat token...yeah the Chuckie Cheese mouse..2001...

Nice!

I'm a little worried about finding gold with the SE. I've tested some of my gold and the results were not very promising. I know some people say to use all-metal, but thats just not an option in my neck of the woods.

I tested a 14k gold chain I found with my DFX and got nothing out of my SE.

I am surprised to see a Gold Earring display like a Nickel. The reason must be the size of the Earring. You got lucky finding that one. My Nickels read between 5 and 6 on Digital so I would have dug that Target also. Congrats on a piece of Gold. You just never know what the next item you dig will be. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH.

My nickels have been coming in from 9 to 11/5 and once in a while 6 in digital. This reading was confusing because I was getting a cent reading with it of 7/25...26 So I thought it would be a coin spill with a crossed up signal... As soon as i recovered the earring the cent signal was very clear and was a cent.

Nice finds, Greg. I found a hoard(?) of Chuckie Cheese tokens last year--about 7-8 of them in a pile. :)

Southwind, try testing gold rings and see how they read. My understanding is that gold chains will only be detected as if they were the individual links.

dig those low hits. Actually it's not that I'm lazy...but my knees are shot from a Harley accident a few years ago. I HAVE been known to bend down to pop out some deep silver on occasion though:super:
