Hello Swingbeep,
Those deep iffy signals can be all over the screen, especially in trashy areas laced with iron.
Here are this past weekend finds, Saturday was using the CTX bagged 1 barber dime, 3 Indian pennies and 3 wheat pennies.
Sunday switched to the AT Gold, 4 wheat pennies and 1 buffalo nickel. These are park finds all 6-8" inches deep and all iffy signals from an area masked by iron, suprisely the AT Gold did Extreamly well in fact I feel the AT will eventually get these masked coins easier than the CTX once the masked Iffy signals start to thin out.
You mentioned low conductive gold signals, The Buffalo nickel I snagged is low conductive and in the gold jewerly range and it was not IDing correctly, In fact was coming in up there high in Indian penny territory but it read deep so I went for it.
One of my buddies was using his CTX when I was using the AT Gold, he's a fantastic hunter and he dug 7 old coins to my 5 with the AT Gold. However, he also hunted longer 2-3 hours longer than I did.
The masked weak iffy signals will fool you, but after digging many you'll get accustomed to digging them and they will become a part of your daily routine.
I truly beleive the fast recovery single freq machinee of today have an edge over Minelab Explorers,CTX in iron infested sites including pounded parks were iron masking limits the Explorer line. Of course a user needs to learn single freq extreamly well to get these deep iffy signals, I can honestly say both the AT Pro and AT Gold are fantastic machines, Sure the CTX detects deeper than the AT line but in areas laced with iron the AT Gold has an edge.
Take care,
