I read that the cz gives a high tone to brass/copper/silver ect, what tone does it give to gold.High/med/low some of you guys must of been lucky enough to find some. And are the tones on the cz different to those on the 1236,thanks in advance. UKman

UKman,
Gold can come in on any of the tones. It depends on the size and quality of the gold. Foil is the area for small womens rings and thin bands, as the size and thickness of the ring goes up so does the reading, to nickel.. tabs and even on occasion zinc.
The tones on the CZ are very distinctive and easy to identify, one of the best there is for ease of ID by tone alone.

Most gold jewelry comes in medium tone which is both tabs and foil. Nickel which is high and a few large 10kt rings have been found in Zinc which is the high tone...as Jackpine just about all over the meter depending on size..Kt. and what gold is mixed with...

Thanks to everyone who answered this post and all the others,it has helped alot. UKman
