Gold Strike / Coin Strike

I know this is probably a dumb question I should already know the answer to, but here goes....
I have a Gold Strike, the control box looks identical to the Coin Strike. Is the difference in the tuning of the box, or is it in the coils (the coils are definitely different) or both? Just wondering if I could turn a gold strike into a coin strike, but I imagine the answer is no. That would be too cheap and simple! :nerd:
Thanks,
CH

I was actually leaning toward the CZ3D as an upgrade to the 1270, I don't like the touchpad machines, I like knobs. I just happen to have the gold strike (which I have never used, even though I am in Alaska! "Someday") and was curious. I guess I already knew the answer.

I use the 1270 for my all purpose coin and relic hunting machine. I Have 2 Bounty Hunters, our first machines. Can't part with the first one, an original Quick Draw, but will sell the Big Bud one of these days to help pay for a newer Fisher. I should sell the Gold Strike, but I really want to use it! Each machine has it's niche and it is hard to part with any of them!

Two completely different detectors. The Gold Strike was not made long before being dropped from the line. People I know that have them
LOVE' EM. As to regular hunting, the Gold Strike should be a killer at identifying ferrous/non-ferr if you are in iron infested areas with OLD coins.
You should break it out to use-might pleasantly surprise you.:clapping:
A NEW nugget hunter is coming from elsewhere-a GS-5 with WHITES name on it.
As to the C$ I have hit earring studs with my C$, so its good for TINY gold, also #7 1/2 bird shot-pinpointing is HELL-but my Bullseye & Tiny-Tech cure that.:detecting:
