Gold & Silver today!

My wife beat me good today at the park with her 2500. First she found a 1949 silver threepence, then about 15 minutes later, she found a huge (loose on my thumb even!) 9kt gold band. Later this afternoon we went to a playground and she found the 9kt earring laying on the surface of the wood chips (eyeballed it before the detector ever got near it!)
She also found a little over $8.00 in change, some of which she promptly spent on a lotto ticket... feeling lucky!

I found 5 cents, and lots of junk. DOH! ...a bit of an off day.

Nice finds. I've never heard of nine karats. Do you find stuff like that often? I've never seen a 9 kt anything.

It seems that it's the common makeup for rings and such, as a cheaper alternative to 18ct or 14ct. I believe it's fairly common in Europe, also.
