Have had a pretty good last 2 days. Stopped by an old school that has been hunted to death. Found 4 wheat pennies and dad found an Indian about 10 1/2 inches down or so. Couldn’t believe when a coin came out of the hole. Went to a new 1870’s permission I got yesterday today and it started off slow. Ground was really weird. Ground balance at almost 80. Lots of iron and chatter. Found a few wheats at first and then after about an hour I found a super cool sterling brooch about 5 inches. Then nothing for a while. Was about to leave and dad got a 1951 Roosevelt dime. After that it really turned on in this one little spot by the back door. About 6 or 7 wheats and 2 mercs and another roosie all in about 10 minutes. Then I got a real deep silver dime signal and out came a ring. My first with the 800. Turns out the band is sterling and the top of it is 10k gold!! My first gold with the 800 as well. What a great day! Also got some real old wheats as well. 1911, 1912, 1913, 1914, 1916 D and a 1919 along with some 40’s and 50’s wheats. Very pleased with the Equinox and it’s performance.
