I hooked up with a friend (PI-Joe) today and brought him to one of the small beaches I like to detect... First words out of his mouth was its all rocks, I laughed and told him its the type of beaches I hunt. In the water isn't much better... bigger rocks and then patches of small rocks, mud and clay.. It made it hard for Joe to hunt because his scoop doesn't have a stainless lip like my Babbs scoop does.. I got an old 10k ring and a small charm with diamonds that tested good plus a silver ring and lots of lead.. the 2 mercs were in the pouch where the trash goes.. I must have stuck them there by accident. Weather was cloudy and raw air temp was in low 20's and water temp was 40..

I wish I could Bobbie... But we are house hunting and we have 5 houses to look at :( We will hook up one of these days... I'm heading up your way this coming week to take a dip :)

The bottom is rock/mud/clay so light trash never gets down in it at least that's what I think :) I use a sifter on this beach... You can't shake the scoop here.. I rarely find pulltabs or such there.
 
find the golden sinkers like rob racer finds down this way.

i have been trying to find them as well with no luck........i would like to find a nice big pile like yours but gold like his............u think
 
Glad to see you are still finding some gold along with all that lead. :beers:
 
Some great loot and some great pics too.
When it comes to the sinkers ......you better open a fishing store.lol
