GOLD RINGS

Hi guys,While I've been using an Explorer for a
couple of years now,and found thousands of coins,
I've only found a couple of Gold Rings!
Can someone share with me a simple program that
will find Gold Rings, and ignore mostly everything
else?
Thought it might be fun to try, if it's possible.
Sincerely, MAVERICK.

well, lets first start with the fact that coins of all types are far more common than gold rings. As such, you and the rest of us will be finding quite a few less gold rings than coins, no matter what machine and/or settings you are using or where you are searching. As far as specific programs, i'll let someone else answer that.
As you may know, foil & pulltabs fall in the same range. My first (and only so far) gold ring read a consistent "5" on the digimeter. By the way, im still looking to hear from those who know where GOLD COINS usually fall on the digimeter... any input on this would also be appreciated.

I'd be interested in more input on this subject, too.I've not found any gold rings yet with my Explorer, but have found a few silver ones that came in 28 digital.I just did an air test on some gold rings I have. One high quality,22 kt.Chinese gold one, read 28,but the others, that were thinner, ladies' rings read zero.

I used the program a number of times when I first got my Explorer and was very successful.three days at one beach in ankle deep water netted me 10 rings, medal and heart pendant(all gold).plus a number of nickles,(Vs,buffs and jeffs). Not to mention a good number of sinkers!(there were absolutely `no`pulltabs on this old beach)Andys theory is-you dont waste time picking up pennies, dimes, quarters and silver items that are less valuable than gold...But you will accept all pulltabs, broken or whole. This program is especially useful if you have limited time to search. Now ,being much more familar with the xs,I mostly search in iron mask and with the tone and crosshair position you get a good sense of whats below the coil.Give it a try..Good luck,Ralph
