Gold ring

Gila Marc

New member
I haven't posted for some time, but now that it's a lot less hot here I've been going out a bit more lately. I found this Monday after work in a local park. 18K white gold wedding band. I'm sure someone was a bit disappointed in losing it.

Or perhaps it was thrown there.....just sayin:bouncy:

I know of a certain boat dock where a very nice wedding ring is at the bottom, ....someday. I suppose first as a newbie, I should do a lot more learning about this whole deal, I have the research down, being an avid history buff, the metal detecting is new, the mentor insisted I buy an MXT, and after seeing it in action, I think he is steering me right.

Yeah, there's zillion reasons why things are in the ground.

There are lots of metal detectors out there, but I don't think you can go wrong with an MXT. It depends on what you're really looking for, also. There are dedicated gold detectors, underwater units, all kinds of bells and whistles, but for general use the MXT is unbeatable in my opinion. Over the years I've had everything from an old DeTex BFO, to a Whites Coinmaster TR, a Bounty Hunter Lone Star, a Tesoro Lobo SuperTraq, a MineLab Quattro and the MXT. The BFO and TR were pretty much "dig it all" machines but they did work, and very well. I really liked the Lone Star and found TONS of stuff with it. I don't use the Quattro much but only because I use the MXT so much I've never taken the time to get to know it's "language", The MXT is my workhorse. You'll like it, I'm sure.
