Gold ring with diamonds. I wish.

Hello,
Went hunting by a school near me today. Found plenty of clad. Clad is ok. It pays for the gas, and a dinner or lunch. Got a nice signal and dug up this ring.
I thought it might be real at first, but I doubt it now. I'm not an expert on gold rings. One of these days I'll find the real thing. Anyway thought I would post this for fun.
Attached is the pic of the ring and a pic of a real 14k gold ring I found a few months ago. This is my first year of detecting BTW.
Thanks for reading and HH everyone.
Dan.

Congratulations on the ring finds Dan. Thanks for the pictures too. Keep it up.

It sure looks good! You did not mention if it had a metal stamp. Gold rings are always a thrill to find. HH Terry

It does look good. It doesn't have any type of stamp on it though. I would think if it was real gold it would be stamped. Whatever it is, it's not plated.
I filed a small area on it and the color is the same underneath. What does that prove though? I don't know. I guess rings can be made of all types of
metals that look like gold. It's not magnetic at all, but yet again what does that prove.
Thanks, Dan.

Congratulations on the nice find! I bet when you pulled that out of the ground your heart beat a little faster. Thanks for posting.

Hey Dan, no metal stamp is not uncommon. I have found several that did not have a stamp. I would have a local independent jeweler check it.

I heard that also, no metal stamp. I will have it checked out and let you all know.
Thanks.
Dan.
