OK I will get some pics up soon but just have to brag a bit. Thought you might like this read.
FINALLYYYYY got myself off to my favorite spot first time out this year. I had 2.5 hours to get to it and am totally tired of reading about everyone Else's finds. So Sun was warm and I hurried all morning so I could get out to my most happy hunting ground that has been coverd in icy cold to take advantage of the heat wave we are having (50) so I drudged my gear out there as fast as I could and set up my E with the 10x12 coil and all the best settings I could think of to get through the iron and trash I have to fight through. Usually I use the 14 inch coil here as the targets are DEEEEPP! But I was focusing on the trash and iron infestation to see if I could find something everyone had missed. I had been dreaming about going over the iron bog again all winter and reading up on your great posts.
After about 2 hours of nothing but bullets I heard an iron high tone and a nickle tone (11-12) mixed together. It was a tough signal at first but I thought I could just hear a good tone with almost solid numbers for nickel or like kind...Excited I dug a scoop down 9 inches and lay ed it out on the ground. Amidst the black and orange rusty dirt I swing the coil for a hit and see a familiar circle of shinny lite...a gold ring. Finally all the waiting, expectation and concentration came together and I pick up what I can tell is a fine gold signet ring. I cant imagine how many folks including me have been over that spot. I personally have hunted the same area over 6 years and in all different directions and weather with the SX, Ex11 and the E trac. I wish I had the camera cause when the ring came out it was right in the middle of a bunch of crusty orange rusty disintegrated iron and from about 9 inches deep.
You know... that warm sun hits your face and it starts you thinking about that spot where there just might be more of those great treasures still hiding in the earth where if your up to the challenge you just might be able to lure one up and out. So off you go on another adventure to that spot that you just cant say no to cause its calling you out to come and search again. My bud always tells me when we start off " the silver will find us" Well I just cant give up on this over hunted and most abused site and she just lets me have few good treasures when everything comes together, I have pulled out over 70 gold rings there over the years...I text-ed him this morning to tell him I added another gold ring to my collection. He says he misses hanging out with me and then teases me about my rings being "my preciousssss" Its not really about the rings...more just about being there and doing what I enjoy.
This forum rocks not only for the great information here but because I know you folks all share them same addiction. When can I go next?
Good luck
