Gold prices are so low, I'm not selling mine yet!

With such low gold prices hovering around $1419 and silver $23:wacko:, I think I'll be holding onto my gold items, including this gold crown I detected on the beach a few weeks ago! At least until it goes up to a decent amount.
Like many of you, I suspect you are also holding on until the crappy price of gold that it is right now, goes up?

yeahh i sold a little at 1600$ couse my brother needed help....but this is to low to sell now

It's better than where it was a few years back, but I
know what you mean. I wouldn't get too hopefull about it
getting back up to the 1600 level any time soon though.

Who ever we thought we'd see the day where we call $1400/ounce for gold "crappy"?

I've been watching the market and from I have been seeing/hearing, my personal opinion is that gold will continue to fall until it hits about $1200/ounce where I think it will stabilize for some time. But then, thats just my opinion...

Now if there's another catastrophy in the financial world, all that can change, but I don;t see that on the immediate horizon.

I hope.

I say 'crappy' because they are crappy! Not too long ago as we all know, gold was $1900 an ounce plus heading towards the $2000 mark. Likewise silver was in the over $40 an ounce bracket heading towards the mid $40's.
I remember some years ago when I sold a 100oz (yes 1 hundred ounce) 999 silver bar. I got $700 for it and felt like I had robbed the guy!! so I realise it is all relative and subject to politics, coupled with global demands. So as all of these factors are in play, so goes the dollar amounts of precious metals. All we can do is hope and pray that the market gets healthier so we, as detectorists get a better price for all the work we put in and for what we find. Don't get me wrong, I love every day I can detect and I'm not solely detecting for the $ only, it just pays for the gasoline and equiptment etc; and the privilege to do this.
I don't like hoarding and usually sell my stuff soon after I detect it but like I said, I will not sell at these market prices. Maybe I'll BUY it instead? LOL.

1400 an oz is rediculous. No, its not 1800...but it is still insane compared to the previous prices. Just saying. Holding out while its at 1400 holds its own risks. It could be 750 in 4 months. You never know what the market is going to do. Despite gold companies touting gold as a good investment, its not likely to see 1800 or 2000 anytime soon my friend. Hawk it if you don't wanna keep your stuff. Tell metal guy you can sell to him for 85% on spot, or mail to ara, believe me they will do it. hh an gl.

Has it dropped below $1400 yet, or did it save itself just in time?

Still going down:(. Today Gold was.....low $1354 high $1384
Silver was....low $22.09 high $22.81
