Ok folks. Here it is. My best find to date and (in my opinion) my best video so far. Find it, dig it, open it, research it and treasure it... All live. Please "share" it "like" it and subscribe. Thanks for taking the time to watch. Happy hunting.

Nice that is such an incredible find!! Great video as usual

[size=large]loved and identified with the story. my father-in-law was required to buy his own pocket watch as he went to work for the union pacific back in the day. like wise he got an Elgin. it is silver instead of gold. sad to say it was roman numerals and didn't meet the rules. he had to get an other one that met the standards you had in your story. years later in 1975 i had been married to his daughter for a few years and found a job driving bus for the city of Portland, OR transit co. they required everyone have a pocket watch also. they weren't as picky as the railroads. too bad. not everyone's watch kept good time and a lot of busses were missed on that account. anyway i still have the Elgin. needs repairs. kids got to it during the years but it was a beautiful timepiece and that was a well told story in your vid.
i would say your find didn't belong to a worker on the r.r. they didn't spend on gold. more than likely like my f-n-l they bought silver watches. meeting the standards but at a cost they were more likely to meet in price. just my guess. whoever owned that watch made a little better money.
thanks very much for a very fine story. as my kids used to say, "Do it again daddy ". will be waiting for your next one.

Beautiful pocket watch and great video! A watch like that is a special find, because it is so much more personal than just coins. Thanks for taking the time to make these awesome productions! The quality of your videos are the best on YouTube, and must be a lot of work. I'm glad to see you and your buds having a good time and also have a great appreciation for history. Awesome Job

[size=large]Can only download one pic at a time. so here's my heirloom. As you see the wind up is at 3:00 and was required to be at 12:00. also it's in roman numerals. must have been large regular numbers. this missing the hands and crystal. will cost around $100.00 to have repaired. if the watch repair person can find the original hands for it. if i remember the s/n puts this watch into the 1920s. my father-in - law bought it in the 40s.
