Gold Or Smart

As of now I own neither of these detectors and by watching videos of these two under or near power lines, the Gold by far is not effected by emi where the Warrior fails hands down...Just something for a person to think about if deciding what is best or where he likes to hunt...

Didn't see that video.
Never had an issue with the Vista Gold. So can't comment on the other two.

Sven,
Sent you the emi and warrior trouble that was posted by another member...Would post, but has advertisement with it...

Keith Southern works the Gold under power lines. Not a whisper.

The sound the detector is making sounds like an electric fence arcing to ground. EMI from high power lines are continuous not intermittent. I suspect he has the sensitivy and / or gain cranked up too high by the sound of the detector in the night scene. Richard

That's what I was thinking, as the Warrior now has the added Gain control. Which adds a lot of gain that is otherwise fixed. Crank it up too high if I remember right amps up ground mineralization noise. The higher the mineralization, use less gain. Sensitivity cranks up target sounds as well as EMI. So if you ramp up both controls becomes unstable depending upon mineralization. Air testing you could do it and see crazy deep air test depths. But, not in the ground. Do if you play with both controls, you need to know what they do and how they interact with each other.--If your hunting for small shallow targets, deep small targets, larger deep targets.
Correct me if I am wrong.

Richard,
Only one way to know for sure, if you have a Warrior or anyone else has one, how about conducting this test and report your findings. Sure would help a potential buyer determining if he or she goes with the Gold or Warrior...

Take the plunge and have one shipped to Oz, you won't have to worry about the T brand distribution problems....................
