I here alot that people find coins next to iron.
But what about gold does that happen to anybody
I am new to the Ctx more of a excal guy.
This machine has alot of features and i am not sure if it will increase my gold finds as much as i thought it would

https://youtu.be/sfLYK56epLE watch this video with the gold ring and nail if it can see the ring under a nail I don't think it will have a problem with iron next to the ring . I don't water hunt but it seems that low conductors in iron are not a problem for it.
Your not going to get your bin tone for the ring but you will get your iron tone . If your able to look at the screen when hearing the iron such as shallow water you may see something like this . sube

Diddo. I just converted from my Excal to 3030 for finding more gold; primarily with use of the 17" coil and more selective elimination of trash (esp bottle caps). I also appreciate the ability to program my own sound frequencies.

Run in Ferrous / Coin Target Separation with Target Trace and Target Trace Pinpoint both on. Run a "screener" such as Jay's Gold Program. When you hear a partial response pull the trigger and look at the screen to see if there are two cursors. Where you have one iron cursor down in the lower right corner--thats the iron. When you have another one in your screen box at left and it's stable (not bouncing around)--dig--that will be low conductor target next to iron. This is the method I've developed to get gold in close to iron. This will really show you what the CTX can do.

Ive just started out with the CTX. But.... id do have experience with the Explorers. I had one day with over 20 junk earring studs. What i noticed the machine would give two tones..... one for each metal.... the stem and prongs. So if it can do that id have to say near targets or even target under iron may well give a partial good tone. So i wouldnt discount those.

Yes, I have found gold next to copper and iron.

Get both target ID's most of the time.

I did have a large copper coin masking gold once but it glinted in scoop at me :)
