Gold 'n silver day

I sure worked hard for my finds today. 106 degrees and some of the ground is like concrete to dig. But if there's a signal I gotta see it. Dug 178 coins, a $1.00 Mexican coin, 4 flip flop charms,a silver ring and 2 possible gold items.

The ring is stamped .925, the pendant has writing on the loop - part says 10 K but hard to see the rest. I'll have to take another look after I have rested. The cross looks gold, there's a hole in the back side for each diamond - but the stamping looks like 111. I'll have to see what the jeweler says.
Also dug 17 nickels ! Steve in so az

I don't know how you dig such hard ground :) I tried a little at a ball field last Saturday and it was like concrete. I'll stick with the beach right now until we get a good soaking rain. I'd like to hit the area around my church again (near the 1820's Quaker house). I'm working on digging deeper, "iffy" targets".

Funny, a guy near me that found the two 1790's cents said they were no more than 4" down. Go figure.

Joe - Over the years I have found old coins at very little depth and dont know why.Not as old as your friends tho. Guess the dirt gets moved, etc.
If had a beach area I would never dig hard ground. Steve
