Gold hunting with the 250

I rarely dig when gold hits on 250 and 350. That's prob why prob why I've never found gold....lol
Hi everyone!
My name is John I am new to this site but an old Detector user of many yrs and just getting back into it after a long illness! I had to sell all my detectors as I was out of work and in need of cash
I owned and used regularly an ADS Deepseeker Early groundhog ADS and a A2B with these trusty machines I found so much treasure/coins rings etc would take all day to describe.
The old groundhog and later A2B with a small coil found so many Gold nuggets some as small as a pin head that many of my friends with later more expensive machines could not match
and still can't. I'm not sure if it is my tachnique honed over many yrs or the fact that they are still one of the best machine designs for this area of treasure hunting!?
Would appreciate anyone's comment!!
