Gold hammered coin with CTX

botto

New member
Went out on Sunday with my club on a dig in the UK, found this James 1st gold hammered crown coin at 7" deep, Date1612-1613.
This CTX is fantastic and it gets better the more i learn it.

Cheer,
Gavin.

Congratulations Gavin, that is a beauty.

One day I would like to go to England and look for those types of coins. WTG................:hot:

My one and only trip to the UK I was in search of gold but no luck. People seemed to be more about finding a Celtic gold coin but I would rather find a hammered gold. Superb find, congratulations!

To be honest i could not say what it came in at, here in the UK anything that gives a good or even iffy signal over your discrim settings you have to dig. I just got a good signal and dug LOL. Just to let you guys know we dig more bits of foil and lead than anything else as we set our detectors to reject small iron only.
