gold found with MXT

Hillbilly Bob

New member
Here some gold I've found with my MXT, they are 1/2 oz vials. Some of the fine gold was pulled out of the creek using a sluice box after locating it with the detector. And some was detected in a dry wash, all with the MXT and 6 X 10 DD coil.

Nice gold Robert. In what state are you finding your gold. HH Dennis in Idaho

Nice finds! What size of coil did you use?

I mainly hunt three states, California, Colorado, and Arizona. I go prospecting a couple times a year. I have family in all three states.

Very nice SMALL gold.
That is some coil to find that small gold and gravels.
Do you look for mineralization/black sands too with the MXT?
That MXT is a workhorse.

Sunny Jim

Yes Jim, thats what I do is track the black sand and when I get high iron signals I figure its a pocket of heavy material then I set up my sluice. I've never got just a gold reading when in a creek.

Wow nice work!! And the exact location of you find?LOL!! Just kidding but would like to know the state if you would be so kind! I live in NH and there suppose to be small amounts of gold here too but I have not hunted for it yet.. Thanks! George

Hello H. Bob....
Just wanted to drop you a "thanks" for posting these pics (right after I was asking about the MXT and possible gold in the local river). Pure inspiration :).

Work has been murder lately and I haven't had time to be online for awhile, but when things get back to normal I'll be checking out the river. I dug out an old (and unused) set of gold pans I've had for awhile. If anything good happens I'll build a "poop chute" sluice arrangement and try to "do it up right"...lol.

Thanks again for the pics :)...

Good luck Michael. but beware of the GOLD FEVER!! :rofl:It doesn't take long to catch.
