Gold  I was sooooo excited.

Got off work early so decided to go to a nearby town after work.
I had looked at it on google earth and saw an area i wanted to try.
It was right in the center of four Baseball fields, there was a tot play area right in the center with a fence around it.
got there after work and started hunting it getting Nickle after Nickle,Quarters, pull tabs.
Had completely hunted it and hadn't found one piece of jewelry.
The play area had one entrance, so i stepped outside it thinking i would try on my way to the truck.
swung seven or eight sweeps with no signals at all, then got a low tone.
Looked, it registered 12-02 on the screen.
i had been digging quite a few of these and getting tiny beads and sequins off clothing. i had been hoping to find a small gold charm off a necklace at this vid number.
Anyway, this one was sharp and loud, not like most of the 12-02 readings i had gotten.
I dug, shook the clod a little and saw this.

I was stunned because i knew then that it was a ring!
looked at it and i could see some markings but no numbers.
The markings are JWBR which i found out after i got home is the hallmark of Verigold ltd.
anyway, one of my first thoughts was to get it tested.
a friend of mine i use to work with had a pawn shop on the way back home,so i stopped back by.
He tested it at 14K,and the tiny white diamonds around the Black Diamonds were all real!
I was so excited when i left after digging it,I got about ten blocks down the street, and happened to wonder if i got my digger,so i stopped and looked.
No Digger,
I went back and got it!
The Ring was made to be a two band set, it has a place in the bottom and under the stones where another band is suppose to fit.
anyway, i am very excited, I never write this much LOL
enjoy.

Congratulations on a great find, I got my 1st a few weeks ago,it read 12-05 so I will def. pay attention to those 12-02 thru 12-09 numbers now, I hope you find many more.

Awesome find! You might want to recheck the area just to make sure the second one wasn't lost also.

Beautiful ring. Great job, you're an inspiration on the jewelry. Thanks for the pictures.

that's a very nice find, I know that excitement you had when you found your ring , Congratulation may you find another soon.

Awesome find. The great pictures and all the detail in your story makes me want to go detecting right now !!
I gives a lot of hope to those who are snowed in. Thanks for sharing your find with us. HH

Thanks for the enlightenment on looking "outside the box" er totlot as well for the goodies!!

Wise advise right there. I will remember this for next season when I can hunt again.

Thanks, I use to look for places to find old silver, and never even thought about looking in the tot lots, baseball fields, soccer fields.
now that has completely changed.
I now look for kid play areas, soccer and baseball fields, swim areas, and with a small coil you can do a lot of swingin and not get very far!
but, the small coil seperates the signals and you can get a lot of diggin in lookin for gold!

I was thinking last night about me being a deer hunter also.
and remembering getting buck fever when you finally saw a buck deer!
the anticipation of waiting and waiting and then finally,There it is and you get all shook up.

This seems to be how it is for me looking for Gold!
There are so many signals that could be Gold, and i hope each time i dig that it is Gold.
But as you know, probably 95% of the time it is something else.
Then all of a sudden when your least expecting it Bam, There it is.
Just like Buck Fever!

That is what it is all about! if we didn't get excited it wouldn't be worth it!
