Gold Coin I think???

It certainly looks like a Gold Coin and the 12/08 contributes to that feeling

Any chance you can post what it says since even with enlargement I am unable to read the lettering

Major Congrats:clapping:

I can't see it very well but I think it is definitely from Mexico. Concentrate your search there and I think you will find a match. Congratulations.

An "authentic" Mexican 50 Peso gold coin is an alloy composed of 90% gold and 10% copper containing 1.2057 oz or 37.5 grams of gold. Unfortunately, the actual 50 Peso gold coin is just a tiny bit smaller than an old US Silver dollar. Much much larger than the item you pictured. So although the item you found could be gold, it is not an actual 50 Peso gold coin. It is likely a medallion offered as a replica of the coin, for jewelry. If you do a google search for 50 peso gold coin jewelry, you'll find several pages of posts with this particular "coin".

Great dig to get your blood flowing. Sorry it isn't likely what you hoped it would be.

Nice. If its real, you did real good!

Wow that's a find we all look for. This is why I like this site if you post it here some one will know something about it. What state did you find this in? Let us know after you have it checked out. Great Job

Digger is correct. Also, (at least in the photo) the engraving does not appear to be as sharp and defined as it does on the photo of the real 50 pesos coin, possibly indicating a replica of some kind. Great find though regardless! Congrats!
