Gold class ring

What are the numbers on an At Pro for a lady's white gold class ring? I tried searching for threads, but it didn't come up with anything. I have a lady that lost her ring 40 something yrs ago in a flower bed and I said I would try and find it for her. I'll be searching in the front of the home, by the highway. The lady doesn't own the property anymore. But I think we can get permission...I just don't want to do more plugs than I have to...I think there want be a whole lot of trash? but being beside a rural road who knows. Thanks for any help...Resp. Donnie Johnson

It will read lower than yellow gold because of the metals alloyed with the gold to give it the "color".

I have a 14K man's band that reads 51-52 where as my yellow 18K band reads 64-65.

If she has a matching ring, test you ATPro with the mate. They should be close. I have done this on a couple of occasions.
The first two targets I got with my ATPro were two platinum rings, the ONLY signals I got in 40 minutes of searching as I notched out all ID numbers that did not match the platinum. One other detector could not be used on the street due to the overhead wires and the third detector found a man hole cover, a tin can and a few more pieces of junk. The platinum rings were in a snow bank...It was a great start for a wonderful detector.

One cannot determine the numbers for gold rings; yellow, white, or rose. Yellow gold is not as conductive as white gold because of the higher silver content in white gold; HOWEVER, the VDI numbers depend heavily on the size and structure of the ring. A very large man's yellow gold ring can yield a 67-71 whereas a tiny thin yellow gold ring can register as 39-41. NEVER RELY ON ONLY THE VDI NUMBERS! I repeat, NEVER! The VDI numbers are a single data point in the many one uses to help determine whether to dig or not. There are so many variables out there.

Just got permission to hunt the site the ring was lost at..."Will update as soon as I can hunt"...I looked the site over before I got permission to hunt and it is grown over with bushes. But Still hope full. Ring has been lost 44 yrs.

The white gold rings I have located read 41 to 47 they were 10K smaller ring with diamond & a medium 10k band and 14k(large band) small band 14 k white gold all were at different beaches. Just guessing I would say all were lost in the last 10 years or less.
Will be nice to hear when you find it, how deep it was and the numbers that showed up.
