I will say again, I DIDN'T do this video as a head to head against the GPX!! I marked some signals with the GPX that I knew would be bullets by their sound and then fired the Gold Bug up on them, here is just one of the bullets and the signal response, in both all metal and disc mode. The ground here is hotter than what I have in my yard; balanced in the 60s and you can see those FE meter segments are still up there as well. So this ground is pretty hot dirt. I am taking the dry ground thing into consideration as well; because I ended up digging 8 bullets total in about 45mins-1hr and it absolutely drained me. This ground needs a pick instead of a shovel. No need in showing the other 7 bullet responses; all were the same as this one.

So all in all, the Gold Bug didn't do any better or worse than some of the other VLFs we had down on this site. It is what I would consider "average" for this kind of dirt. If you all have seen some of my other videos you can see that very thing happening with the Tejon I had down there; and that is just how VLFs do in this dirt. The more I play with the Gold Bug the more it reminds me of how similar it behaves to the Tesoro Vaquero. Fast recovery speed, runs off one 9 volt, battery life don't last long, pretty good depth on low conductive items, and with the advantage of an ID meter for shallower things. That is a good thing; the Vaquero was my favorite lil turn on and go machine for run and gunning sites and that's exactly what I bought the Gold Bug for. I was expecting a little more from it but once again it does "average" so that's that. In good dirt I'm sure they really rock in depth.
