A friend and I found VIRGIN ground today no one has ever hit before. A little lake that's been a resort type set up for many years. While digging a signal next to the watter I had set my GB down on a rock and it toppled into the watter I grabbed it as fast as possible but watter was already pouring out the extra head phone plug. I shut it off as fast as possible and pulled the battery. Went and borrowed my buddies leather men and took it apart and dried it out. WHEWWW it was ok that was close. Anyway we had a great day Keith managed a very nice 18K men's ring a 1883 Indian head penny, 1930s Buffalo nickel and a 1944 dime and 3 wheat's, wow he did great I got my ---___ttt kicked by his e-trac. I still managed a ton of clad but out of 170 coins my oldest were 3 1964 nickels and a 63 penny.
My total was 84 penny's
43 dimes
19 quarters
and 24 nickels
=$11.09
I still don't know Keith's clad count but he was on his knees all day too. We spent at least 3 hours scanning the beach and got very little then started the areas where people used to camp and the picnic tables were. All this and only 4 bottle caps and 5 pull tabs and a hand full of split shot and two stick pens one says GRINDELWALD and the other is a 2006 Stanford sierra camp pin.
Even Though I Did not get any of the killer finds this time it was still a great day.
Happy hunting
