Just a small test. The video is in it's raw format (I did not edit it).

Here you will see what the Gold Bug Pro does with the F5 10" coil and a nail, quarter, nickel and a 14k gold ring, I think it speaks for it's self.

Hope you enjoy watching.

I should of said, the nail was placed on top of each object in the order that they are listed in my first post.

I have said over and over again the Teknetics G2 and Fisher Gold bug pro are the best machines in iron out right now. Great video proving that!

Ive done the same tests with the 11dd and the 5 dd both are very capable. Do you get a Vdi reading change of 9 to 10 points when the nail is added.
If I'm testing a 18 k ring and its hitting at 50 when the nail is added it jumps to 60. very much in the tab range. I should add the nails Ive been using are square nails.
When I first got my Gb I would post these kind of results and I don't think people took me seriously. I'm glad more bugs have hit the users since then and everyone is in agreement of how good it is with iron. Looks like the coil works well. I be interested in a side by side with the 11DD.
Thanks for the vid !

Putting a rusted nail and a coin level with each other is one thing. But bury a coin about three inches and see how close you can get a good response to the coin with the nail on the surface.. I did that and I think it will open your eyes a little. Real world test......Jack

those are exactly the types of responses I got with the 10" concentric elliptical coil off my Omega. I know it's been stated, even by Dave J. himself, that these two models (G2 and Gold Bug Pro) were designed to work with the two DD coils only, I had excellent performance with the 10" as you showed.

If I only had the 10" and got the Fisher with the 5", I'd check the 10" and then maybe use it to compliment the 5" DD. The 5" DD is my favorite coil on these two models, but the G2's 11' DD does work fine, and the 11" and 5" ought to be able to suit everyone's needs.

Sorry, but not too good. Would like to hear someone else after that test. Hope it was just the ground I did the test in.....Jack
