Got a goldbug PRO......comes with only 5 inch coil.....

No intermediate difference in depth or gain OVER THE 2 New GB SE's I just unboxed.....

had a call into Fisher and REP.....waiting.....Those that got GB SE's got a sweet deal....

$199.00 for the word pro just aint right BOSS....

These are my personal opinions your Facts may very with mileage and driving conditions....

Yes I have a lot good finds with The SE and Facts on operation that have not been discussed yet will try to take the time catch UP on pictures and post!

Jim, does it say Pro on the coil or the control panel? Just curious. Also, rumour back in the day had it that the Pro would come with both the 11 inch and 5 inch coil. I guess that you just settled that rumour!

The 499.00 price was awesome to say the least..This GB SE has been one machine I can actually say brought performance to the table...I like to hunt iron alot and it is awesome for that....But I am getting stuff in bad dirt that should of allready been dug.. So it can peek in the dirt better than dare I say Multi Freq..

You knew the price could not stay that low...

Cant wait to see some find's!!

Thanks for the update...

Keith

Maybe they just decided to give a killer deal on the GBSE and raise the price to normal on the GB Pro. Who knows? All i'm saying is, yeah... it is a bummer to have to pay more for something that is seemingly the same thing but it reminds me of the parable Jesus gave of the man who hired the workers, some in the early morning, some later in the morning, some at noon, some mid afternoon and some just before quitting time. (I think I remember Dave J. using this same example once),,, anyway when quitting time came the ones who were hired in the morning complained when the ones hired just before quitting time got the same wage. The landowner wondered why it was a problem if he paid the ones first hired the wage they agreed on and in kindness paid the later hires the same wage? What wrong is done? No one was forced to buy the GBSE and no one is forced to buy the GB PRO and FTP can offer a good deal on a machine if they want to... you see.... there are two ways to look at it... half full or half empty... or you snooze, you lose.

Perhaps instead of jacking the price on the GB PRO... instead they offered a really good deal on the GBSE at 499.00 ... I hope Mike doesn't talk without thinking and make things seem like FTP is now gouging people. I don't believe they are... I prefer to believe that they offered a great deal. a sale on the GBSE and are now offering the GB PRO at a more realistic price. Perhaps they wanted to put the GBSE out at a really low profit to get the platform out so people would see how good it is. I imagine that the GBSE will hold it's value and maybe even be a slight investment.

Why not give FTP the benefit of the doubt and think the best of them. They are giving us great products. They could have offered the GBSE for 200 more and this conversation would not be happening... ???

I see what you are saying and I think a lot of you. I'm not trying to jump you... not at all, please don't t ake it that way. I just think maybe there is another way to look at this.

And they perform great in Our soil matrix....They LTD's can't run in this dirt like they can in more neutral dirt...so in ground performance goes to the GB SE especially on the brass ..

It's a button hawg:yikes:

If I had known how hot this GBSE is in Tennessee dirt I wouldn't have had a problem paying $1000.00. I'm leaving the LTD at home these days. That's saying something!

Is that one for each hand?? :detecting:

but it would be nice to swing 2 at once:crazy:

I hear it works great on Salt Water beach's

I got a SE last month.... awesome awesome awesome...... I am glad I payed what I did. Now maybe Fisher can sell decals as an upgrade.....just an idea

As on any other beach hunt when using the GBSE, it ran smooth as silk in the wet sand and sniffed out some coins among the iron nails. It was slim pickens in the wet so I ventured up into the dry and started picking off nickels and quarters. I may have missed tons of gold rings because I wasn't digging any 45-47 numbers since there was TONS of foil up in the dry.

Only thing with the GB in the dry is a lot of bottle caps register in the quarter ID range if they don't have any rust on them. Any part of them is rusty, sweeping the coil fast in quick bursts makes the cap hit in the low 20's with the iron grunt every once in awhile, so I can then pass them.

Bottom line is the machine is super easy to set up and performs great at the beach.

I just report the FACTS as I see Em.....

I was looking or Longing for a tuned 19.2 kHz 11 inch coil... specifically for this machine or SE having used my "Gold Stinger" , the coil i built knowing HOW.... BAM.... pumps it up a notch...not a problem... I will build a 12 inch or bigger....Custom......I do Have the OMEGA 11 inch and Omega concentric they both work pretty Good....But I ain't never satisfied....you got to dig all... you can... while you... still... can...

My personal SE is a tad hotter than this pro...is that a bad thing.... not.... really.... it is on par with the other ...2 NEW.... SE's.....

Label on the face plate is inverted..... gold at the bottom black at the top and the word Pro under Gold BUG......looks nice.... but ....you can read the Menu Legends better in THE SE black.....And the SE has the Fancy Special edition painted on the shaft under your ARM.....SPIFFY....I would not hesitate to pick up either one and hunt ....But I have logged some hours with MY SE and .....it was never for sale..... FROM DAY ONE....

Shawn will be in tomorrow and I will let him Dissect ( more Like torture) all Four Bugs....pro included till they confess all their secrets and quirks... then we will....discuss our unbiased observations....but i am pretty sure how it will go ....I spanked him pretty good the other night with my SE.....yesterday he found 2 Indians 2 shield and a v nickel in an hour at a new honey hole.....with his T2 LTD camo...all 11 plus inches in our sugar sand with a 5 inch coil.....My Se will not do that .....But my New Black beauty.... Will .....Black T2 LTD.....It will be interesting.....Yes... I still have my F75 LTD Camo...All have their place ....the SE is king of the iron Today.....gotta go...

Happy Trails
