Where is it located on the Gold Bug Pro?
Don

There isn't one.----Don't loose your purchase receipt, you will need it if service/repair is needed.

Inside the battery compartment above the 9 volt is a sticker with the SN# on it.(Remove the battery to see it):)

Well, if that's where the S/N is located on the GB Pro, I was mis-informed by a dealer then---as I was told there was no S/N and was told "just don't loose the purchase receipt".-------Where is the S/N located on the G2?

It should be in the same place as my Gold Bug Pro since the control box's are the same. Pull your battery out and look up on the inside of the battery compartment there should be a white sticker with the SN#... on it.

I thought my Gold Bug Pro did not have a SN#... at first, then I got to thinking about it and thought they may have put it in the battery compartment and that's where it was. The reason I thought this was because Fishers web site says you need the SN# and proof of purchase before calling in for a warranty claim. So that pretty much told me If I ever needed warranty work I would also need the SN#... So I new it had to have a SN#... hidden somewhere. After I found it I wrote it down on my sales receipt and in the owners Manuel.

Post back if you find it there..:)

My gold bug has it in the battery compartment and there is not one on my G2.
Go figure?

Bill------My wife & I both detect & we have three G2's (that's how much we like them). :)----I had checked them for S/N's before but just checked them again to make very sure I didn't miss anything---I took the batteries out & checked the compartments thoroughly on all three detectors.-----There is no S/N tag or S/N's on them, they are the version 1 G2's.------Perhaps FT has S/N's on the GB's but not the G2's?-----That's the only explanation I can think of.------As I mentioned, I was told none of them had S/N's & the receipt was what was required for service/repair work.-------I hope some other G2 owners will "chime in" here.----Do ANY of you G2 owners have S/N's on your G2's? (in the battery compartment, OR anywhere)?----=How about you GB owners, do all of you have S/N's in the battery compartment OR anywhere?---------Del

I believe it is the Teknetics brand that has no serial numbers. I have a T-2se, G-2, And an Omega and none of them have serial numbers.

I just checked the battery compartment by removing the battery and there it is on a label attached to the top of the compartment Thanks for all the replys.
Don

I am with Laserfeller. My understanding is exactly that Teknetics machines do not have SN#s and Fisher's do.
Tom

mine was stolen and i have talked to mike scott at fisher about this! they do not come with serial numbers!!!!!!!!!! mark your unit some how in a hidden spot so you will be able to identify it if it is stolen. mines long gone!
chuck.

Howdy seeker41(ohio). Just look in the battery compartment of your GB Pro... As Bill G said in his post below it
is in the battery compartment... I just checked my GB Pro and it is there,,, But it is a good idea as Mike Scott mentioned
to mark any detector (or any valuable equipment) for identification. js

Don... I'm truly sorry about your GBPRO being stolen... It is a great machine as the bargraph and phase readings
are a excellent "tool" (for the want of a better word) while out nuggethunting for placer gold.js
