Gold Bug Pro or G2 for gold

Ok I've read that the GBP is awesome for gold.
And every one says the G2 is a coin magnet.
I got my G2 for gold and relics and then some coins.
Do I need to buy the smaller coil from the GBP to get the hits on the tiny pieces of gold the GBP hits or will the NEL sharpshooter be a better option for looking for gold or just use the 11"DD

Both those machines have the same guts. Usually the smaller coils are more sensitive to smaller gold. I have seen a video or two that show the GBP with the 5x10 coil hitting nuggets as well.

2 more cents... The answer is somewhat dependent on where you are hunting. The 11 will see pretty small if there is nothing else there, but the larger area being analyzed will be more easily masked by additional targets. If you are out in the wilderness and there is zero trash you would be okay with the 11 unless you are finding you need a smaller coil to get between rocks and bushes.
I have not seen a difference in the coils from Teknetics and Fisher, but I would stick with same mfg.s all things being equal. Also Greek series coils are equally good here, too.

For gold hunting, I would rather have the 5" and the 5x10" coil instead of the 11" coil that comes standard with the G2. I find that coil to be less sensitive for jewelry hunting. For relic hunting it should be fine. Gold prospecting, I couldn't tell you.
