Gold Bug Pro Coil Options?

Greetings!

I have a Gold Bug Pro with the 11" & 5" DD coils.

I find the 11x7 coil a bit heavy and unbalanced which seems to tire my arm out quicker.

I've been looking for a replacement and was wondering if the 10"x5" elliptical coil performs well.

Most of my detecting are washes w\rocks of all sizes and shape. The pointed end of the 10" looks like it would make a big difference in getting around the sharp edges. Also, in a park I would think it would do well around park play areas.

Reviews from anyone who has this coil would be much appreciated.

Thanking you in advance, ldweber51

The 5X10 is a great coil. its lighter than the 11" and only loses about 1/2" - 1" depth to the 11" coil. So many folks were were asking for that coil that Fisher decided to make it the standard coil on the F19.

second that and a major + for me is that the 5x10 DD coil is a 'closed' design so that it glides over the ground without hanging up....
I put this coil on my G2 a few years ago when it came out and haven't taken it off since.

Received my new 10x7 coil yesterday. Took it out for a couple hours and very happy with the results.

Now i'm wondering If i'll have a real need for the 5" round coil that came with my Gold Bug Pro. It seems I can isolate smaller items even in trashy areas with the elliptical.

Has anyone with both the 10x7" & 5" use both coils.

Thanking you in advance, ldweber51

I have the three coils for my G2....11" coil is great for open ground....the 5" works well in trashier ground but you do loose some depth...the best coil I've found is the 10x5 coil,it hasn't left my G2 sense I put it on....It's by far the best coil for that machine.
The toe of the 10x5 is very sensitive and it pin-points well.It does loose a bit of depth compared to the 11" coil....maybe a 1/2 to 1 inch...
Think you will be happy with it...:)

Cheers,

HH

Thanks for reply Whimpster!

For me, the 11" coil seemed nose heavy and unbalanced, which made my arm tire out quicker than I'm use too.

That's why I put it up for sale on ebay today.
