Gold Bug Pro/5 x10 Coil Finds Some Silver

I went out to a local soccer field for a few hours this morning with a fellow hunting buddy. I found lots of clad coins and a few pieces of 925 jewelry. Both the tiny pendants rang up loud and clear as clad dimes (83/84). The larger silver ring rang up like a quarter (88/89). The 5 x 10 DD coil will go deeper than you think it will. I found a wad of aluminum foil about the size and shape of a quarter at 9 inches. I got a clear reading of 85 - 88. The pinpoint easily locked on and indicated that the target was 9 inches deep. It has become my favorite coil, because it's light, deep, sensitive, separates targets well and covers a lot of ground fast.

There is no question in my mind that of the larger coils, the 5x10 is the one to get.

Thats a very hi TDI reading for alum foil

It was a very compacted wad of foil that was just a tad bigger than a quarter in diameter and maybe around twice as thick. My hunting buddy's MineLab Explorer with a large deep seeking coil couldn't go as deep when he checked my target before I dug. Strange, but true.

I really like that coil on the GB to Tabman, it's a great combination.------Have you tried that coil (5X10) on your Omega?----If so, how is it working out on that machine?---------Del

I haven't used the 5 x 10 enough on the Omega to say one way or the other. I'm having so much fun with it on the GB, it's hard to take it off to do any comparisons.

I do know that the GB and 5 x 10 are a good match. Probably one of the best match-ups for finding small gold jewelry.
