Hey old katz, thanks so much for the posting. I've been wondering about the new Gold Bug, this tells a lot. It seems a lot like Lobo ST. If you get a chance it would be really cool to see some comparisons, between these two.

Yea, I just heard from a reliable source that the Gold Bug III is something Cabellas
is selling and the the Fishers REAL Gold Bug will be out shortly. Can anyone tell what the relationship is of Cabellas with Fishers?
The GB 3 must be some kind of scaled down version or promotion item.

Now that makes since! What I've read about the "new Gold Bug" puts it on a plane with the Lobo ST. Where as what Katz description was quite different than I expected. Time will tell 
Turns out that Fishers makes this lesser version of the Gold Bug especially for Cabellas
like Whites makes special versions of their machines for Kelly Co. But it might actually
turn out to be a good little machine. Only time will tell if its any good. I suspect that Fishers REAL Gold Bug will
be pretty good though.
