Gold Bug beach finds

Here is the results of about 2 total hours of beach hunting with the Gold Bug. Missing are the hundreds of pieces of foil I dug ( a good thing I think when beach hunting) and the DEEP bottle caps. After the first 15 minutes of use, I figured out where I needed to run my discriminating setting, and I did not dig any more small iron or rusty tid bits. I used the 11 inch DD the entire time.

The GB is an awesome beach detector. Gotta make a rain cover for it since I missed a few opportunities to hunt due to it raining out.

Tried to make a video this morning using the 5 inch DD but no luck. High tide and the beach was windy and kind of flooded out with large pools of water and mushy sand.

I was looking at the unit and I don't think you can even take the control box off the shaft and chest mount it since the coil cable is not that long. I would love to be able to take the unit off the shaft and put it in one of those water proof pouches to protect it.
