This is my Gold and Silver after 3 1/4 years, a little over 4 ounces in Gold.
Most other machines won't even detect the smaller pieces in the photo. I'm stuck on the GB-2.

Wow that is great! Are those mostly beach finds? What frequency does the gold bug operate on? You are right, I would really have to lower my discrimination and dig a bunch of trash to get some of those smaller items to beep back. Very nice.

Hi Diggler. Thanks for replying and the for complements.

No, all my gold was found on dry land.

Not in the picture is this 14k ring that is missing the center stone, I found it last weekend.

Also missing is this .8 dwt 14k Crucifix I found yesterday, it's hollow. I hunted three spots spending about an hour or so at each.

The first photo is of the ring that I found last weekend, The rest of the photos are from yesterdays hunt.

on the Gold vice a trash target and a coin. Is there a difference. Like on my Shadow X5 good targets have a sweet smooth ramp up and down audio on gold, coins, brass, and lead lead. Is that the way it is with the GB 2. Thanks, Jerry aka Tinfoil

would say 6" to 8" on gold.

The first ring that I pictured in my first thread, the one that's missing the center stone was down at least 6", maybe 8". The GB-2 has a long learning curve and I have learned to dig whispers and blips that are worthy of investigating.

The ring that is missing the center stone was not a whisper, it was more like a blip. The GB-2 is not a deep diver by any means, but the proof is in the my finds, 96 dwt total.

I don't like digging deep signals in hard clay soil just to find foil or some other junk anyway. I stick to solid signals, smooth whispers and blips.

Exactly that way. On small bits of ill-regular shaped foil the ramp up and down on the audio is not smooth, but scratchy.

I use an uncommon way of hunting. I use a dedicated gold machine to hunt with but accordion to the manufacture it doubles as an excellent coin and relic machine as long as you don

I'm curious, what are "scrapes" and "demolitions"? Also, does the small gold that you find ID in at the foil and even iron range? Are you searching somewhere near Mexico? I was down in Laredo a couple weeks ago.

I had considered getting a gold unit at one point to find small gold jewelry. I decided that they probably don't make something that would ring it at iron or foil ring any higher and wouldn't be any better than any other detector, but looks like you are on to something. :)

Hi harpsoft.
I call a scrape any place that a bulldozer or similar type construction equipment has scraped off the top 3
